UpDated:
Forgot to mention that this move was invented First by my brotherinlaw Michael, and included a wallet, remote, or travel clock. because he's versatile.

body movin'

been going to the gym in the mornings lately, and found it suitable to make some good workout playlists.
I need really pretty fast paces when I run, otherwise I slow down. So this is what I like:
Body Movin'- Beastie Boys
Young Folks- Peter Bjorn and John
Crazy- Gnarls Barkley
American Gigolo- Weezer
Concerto in G- Vivaldi
In a Big Country- Dashboard Confessional
I Don't Feel like Dancin- Scissor Sisters
Manana- Desaparecidos
The City Has Sex- Bright Eyes

This playlist has worked for me, but I'm getting bored- ideas?

thriftin gansta

Merona AnnaBelle Canvas Demi-Wedge $22.99

I loved this shoe. When I see a shoe like this (also available in yellow and white), it conjures up images of boardwalk frolics and seaside picnics. It makes me want to plan special dates to match the occasion of such sweet shoes.
However, if I bought every article of clothing or accessory that made me fantasize about how I would wear them, I would soon be broke.
Luckily, I found this shoes vintage grandma at a thrift store this weekend.

One dolla, folks.

a girl and her car

just a little update: my car is running great and everytime i get in i whisper sweet nothings and caress the dashboard. i tell him how happy i am i'm not making payments on him and working a second job. (it's a boy after all- stick shift).
i've given him a name, a rather embarrassing one, that i will have to use when he brings home his first girlfriend to meet me: Teeny Weeny Tighty Whitey. it fits right? doesn't he just look like a little pair o' fruit of the loom?

craftypants

not much to say about these, just some more shirts i finished. the deer on camo is kind of a joke, i may be the only one who gets it. i made the popeye POW sweatshirt cause i heard sweatshirts are coming back and i think this one is pretty sweet. may cut off the sleeves though. and the gray flowery shirt is going to be hard to part with. that was actually my shirt and i think i want to keep it now.

backseat

lying on my side
on the cool, stiff leather
my head resting
on my dad's crumpled coat

with my eyes closed
the only thing I feel
is the pull of the belt around my middle
the jolts of uneven pavement
the slow swerve of changing lanes
the warmth of the winter sun

trying to sleep in a place
so unlike my stationary bed
with it's sagging mattress

idock

since I should probably be saving for a new(ish) car, I really shouldn't be splurging on leisure items like this. and I probably won't. but if someone walks up to me this week and hands me $99, I know what I'd do with it.

it matches my apartment perrfectlee.

fad diets?

this site contains a brilliant collection of 1970's weight watcher's cards, complete with bright color photographs, quirky names, and questionable props.

SWF In Search Of:

loyal, stylish partner to share the open road. Must enjoy- my music, long drives, hours of solitude.
Looking for long term only.

Yesterday, a.k.a. the longest day of my life, my car died on 78- going downhill though- what a sweetie. So I am really, and I mean- realllly thinking about taking step #23450 in adulthood and buying a newish car and making car payments. The thing is- cars are ugly, mostly, and the good looking ones are about 30k outta my price range. So help me, loyal readers (Katie and Laura) and let me know if you think of a moderately-priced, good-looking, twenty-something kinda car.

p.s. Why DO THEY EVEN BOTHER making cars in the following colors: maroon, green, yellow, gold, light blue? gross.
I realize that basically leaves black, but if I'm gonna be making payments, I better love it.

carnage at the carousel

spent sunday with a friend and her little girl. we ended up at an indoor carousel and i whipped out my crappy camera and took some mediocre pictures.
also got bored (and slightly dizzy) and noticed this rather gruesome carousel line-up. is it supposed to look like the lion's gonna bite that horse?
carnivals, arcades and fairs provide a wealth of photo opps.
i had a friend who walked around a fair on the jersey boardwalk photographing parents as they watched their kids on the rides. it was perfect 'cause everyone thought he was taking pictures of his kid, but really he was getting all these shots of moms and dads making these dopey faces, waving excitedly with eyebrows raised.

natural high

swung by the mall last night, hoping that all the managers got tired of languishing-after-christmas-sales and decided to mark everything wayy down and happily, in the case of delias, i was right! i know that delias is aimed at 7th grade girls who listen to fallout boy but i prefer to think of them as the cheaper little sister of urban outfitters with way better sales. i passed by the pink hoodies with lightning bolts and instead bought these lovely gray flats that i have had bookmarked for months now ($20), a navy knit jacket ($20)...with lots of buttons and an awesome collar, a gray turtleneck ($15) and some cute underwear ($3) and spent...$40! I forgot I had this full punchcard with me and got $20 off my purchase! Woo hoo! Also bought some black scrunchy type boots that can be worn tall or folded down and look like a buccaneer would wear. am wearing them today. feel pirate-y.

tags

So yesterday after work I came up with a Brand name for the clothes I intend to sell, along with a catch phrase and logo. I printed out the labels and stuck them on these tags I bought at Staples. The clothes will be on sale at the Attic in Kutztown this weekend. Now I just have to sit back and wait for the money to come rolling in. ha. ha.

i think i heard some fireworks...

as far as new years eve goes, i did have a great outfit.
dress: french connection (marshalls) $36
navy tights: dollar tree $1
gold shoes: roommates

yes i buy tights at the dollar store which is really the only way i can since the navy pair already has a run.
the pic may look a bit silly and it really doesn't do justice to the gold shoes but i was trying to imitate the outfit-y look of www.stylebytes.net, a daily fashion blog i read.
she is convincing me to tone down the color in my wardrobe (at least for winter) and stick with trends that looked good in the past (boots, skinny jeans, vintage dresses).
