dear old love

I just found this tumblr yesterday and omg, so addicted. After reading every single one I promptly wrote about 10 of my own, which is really, so refreshing. I plan to write at least one for every guy I've dated, starting at age 14. I think it will be a thrilling collection of cringe-worthy musings. The super awesome part is that I already submitted a couple, and one ended up on the site! Check it out.

Don't stay there too long though, as Jared said, "with winter fast approaching I'm trying to focus more on websites with bright colors and preferably a daily joke."

I bought the furniture set last night- it really was a steal, one couch, 2 chairs, 2 end tables and a coffee table for $100. And it's small so it really fits into my living room. I set it up but the living room transformation is just beginning... I've got big plans.

the snuggler

jax is much easier to photograph when he's sitting with me (which he does now! regularly!) so these photos aren't just a bunch of attempts at a cute facebook profile picture, but an actual effort to capture his tiny bunny-ness. omg i luff him.

new couch?

Does anyone have any input on this furniture set? It's on craigslist and I'm thinking about getting it- it comes with all the cushions and 3 end tables, and I'd love to have a whole matching set. The drawbacks are: it would require some serious sewing time (and tons of fabric $$) and one friend in particular can't get past the "porch furniture" aesthetic of it. I personally like the stark skeleton since my living room is so small and generally couches look so heavy and overbearing. I think it fits my style nicely but I don't want to end up with a couch that looks so uncomfortable my guests won't sit down.

the new guy

So this post is a response to the comment asking for pictures of my handsome male roommate, here he is!:

I picked up this little guy last wednesday, after compiling a thorough pro/con list.
So far the pros are beating the hell outta the cons.
Jax is a curious bunny, but also pretty sure I'm going to kill him, or, brace yourself, pick him up (!) which is hellish and torture for him, and likewise, me.
But overall, it's incredibly awesome to have a wild animal in my house, his excretions smell only of hay, and yesterday he made several brave attempts to sniff me, so we're making progress.

*thanks Denise, for the pictures! He might look big in the closeups, but you can see how tiny he really is in his cage.
